New Forest Family Dental (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website, newforestfamilydental.co.uk. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
This policy covers this website only. Records relating to your dental care and treatment are held separately by the practice under our clinical governance obligations, and are not covered here.
The information we collect
If you use the enquiry form on our Contact page, we collect your name, email address, message, and phone number if you choose to give it.
When you browse our website, standard technical information, such as your IP address, is processed automatically so that pages can be delivered to your device and to protect our contact form from spam.
How we use your information
We use the information you give us through our contact form to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to arrange an appointment. Our lawful basis for this is that it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into an agreement for our services, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not sell your information to third parties.
Cookies and similar technologies
We keep cookies and similar technologies to a minimum. Here is everything currently in use on this website:
Essential local storage
We store a small note in your browser to remember that you have seen our new patient offer pop-up, so we do not show it to you repeatedly. This stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors use this website, such as which pages are popular and how people found us. Google Analytics sets cookies to collect this information; it does not directly identify you. You can opt out at any time using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Google Maps
Our Contact and “Find us” sections embed a Google Map so you can find the practice. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads. This is governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours.
Online booking
The “Book Online” button takes you to our booking partner's website in a new tab. Once there, you are covered by their privacy and cookie policy, not this one.
Fonts
The typefaces on this site are hosted by us as part of the website build, rather than loaded from Google when you visit, so no information about you is sent to Google in order to display them.
We do not use any advertising or retargeting cookies on this website.
Most web browsers let you control cookies through their settings. Blocking essential local storage may mean some parts of the site, like the offer pop-up, do not remember your preferences.
Sharing your information
We share your enquiry with the following organisations, only as needed to run this website and respond to you:
- Resend, who deliver your contact form message to our practice email address on our behalf.
- If you choose to join Denplan, the information you give directly to Denplan is handled under Denplan's own privacy policy, not ours.
We do not otherwise share your information with third parties, except where we are required to by law.
How long we keep your information
We keep contact form enquiries only for as long as we need to respond to you and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch, after which they are deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it
- Ask us to correct any information that is incomplete or inaccurate
- Ask us to delete your information, where there is no good reason for us to keep it
- Ask us to restrict how we use your information
- Object to us using your information in certain circumstances
- Ask us to move your information to another organisation
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we are relying on consent to use your information
Children's privacy
Our contact form is intended to be used by adults. If you are the parent or guardian of a child patient and believe they have contacted us directly through this website, please get in touch and we will handle it appropriately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time, for example if we start using a new service on the website. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
Contact us and complaints
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, contact us at contact@newforestfamilydental.co.uk or call 023 8066 6007.
For complaints about your care or treatment, rather than how we handle your information, see our Complaints page.
